Unix Features

WRGB Sections

daytime® uses high-quality individual LED chips—each with excellent color rendering (rather than simple standard WRGB LEDs)—which are grouped into WRGB sections. This results in a broader light spectrum for each color, rather than just individual color “peaks.”

  • Color temperature: 6,500 Kelvin | Continuously adjustable from 2,700 to 20,000 Kelvin with the optionally available Smart Control SC25 lighting control system
  • LED configuration per “10 cm segment”: 8x Fresh White | 9x Royal Blue 450 nm | 9x Glow Red 625 nm + 4x Hyper Red 660 nm | 9x Neon Green 530 nm

Hyper Red 660 nm

Each unix is equipped with special red LED chips that emit light at a wavelength of 660 nm—the ideal wavelength for photosynthesis.

Plants can produce chlorophyll particularly efficiently at this wavelength, as demonstrated by the latest scientific research findings.

As an added bonus, this creates beautiful, brilliant, and deep shades of red in the aquarium!

Inline Adapter System

The universal adapter set is included with every unix. The internal, extendable telescopic support rods can be adjusted to fit the size of the aquarium and locked into place.

Note: A daytime® LED converter is required to operate a unix. This must be selected separately to match the size of the unix. A lighting control unit or dimmer can also be connected between the unix and the converter at any time. Optionally, multiple unix units can be connected to a single converter or lighting control system using a splitter.
